Harvey Cox on Fundamentalism
My brother alerted me to an article that ran in the Boston Globe on Sunday by Harvey Cox, called “Why Fundamentalism Will Fail.” Among other things, this hopeful essay suggests that fundamentalism is on the way out because mysticism is on the way in.
I only hope he’s right.

I read the linked article when you tweeted earlier, I agree with you and hope he’s right.
Someone tweeted that there is always a remnant. I don’t know where that person stands on their comment, but either way I think he’s right.
I think we can be grateful and grow from such a remnant, be more loving, grow in understanding of what is being expressed (regardless of the form of expression) and gradually release the idea of “other” more and more.
