I would describe my meditation practice as a hybrid of centering prayer and simple awareness (following the breath). I generally meditate after morning prayer (and on my good days, after evening prayer as well). I follow my morning meditation with additional time for sacred reading, although I'm not very disciplined at following the four part process of lectio-meditatio-oratio-contemplatio. Mostly I simply read slowly and reflectively.

It ain't much, but it's all I got! :-)

Carl,

Been reading your blog faithfully (discipline:)) for a while now. Was curious if you could post some on your personal practice of meditation, what do you do now, is it constantly changing? What is your base meditation practice? Centering? Christian meditation etc?

I lost 25 pounds since Feb. Basically, I used a low carb/high fiber diet. I explained it in my blog: www.raxweblog.blogspot.com. If you're interested.

Discipline...that is the challenge. I was not raised with it, I have not taught myself it in a way that it is ingrained....it is a challenge and a small step by small step that we have to take.
