divineoffice.org/ provides the Divine Office online. It also provides links to buy various books of the Divine Office---at a good discount---from Amazon.com. iPad and iPhone apps are also available. This Site asks for a small donation but allows you to use it free.

ebreviary.com provides free readings for all Night Prayers, all Sunday and Friday prayers, and some special-occasion prayers, e.g., celebratory days of the Blessed Virgin and Office of the Dead. All the rest of the daily prayers require a subscription of about $30US

You missed out how repeating a form of words or a ritual action can help to get your head into the right mode for communing with the Divine (e.g. when I start calling the quarters in a Wiccan circle, it gets me into sacred space in my head; or if I light the chalice in a Unitarian service, it reminds us that we are communing with the Divine now). And kneeling to pray is a powerful reminder to be awed in the presence of the Divine (whatever each individual understands the Divine to be).

@noel - isn't it available online? Have you tried sacred-texts.com ?

www.missionstclare.com makes it easy to handle all the daily changes -- all you do is pick which office and click your way through which ever pieces you chose to pray.

My previous preference was the Breviary created by the Episcopal Order of St. Helena, but my order now requires the ones from the BCP.

I have been "fairly" consistent for a while now with morning, daytime, evening and night time prayer. I have tried several different forms of the divine office. My current favorite is "Common Worship - Daily Prayer" by the Church of England. I have also downloaded "Universalis" on my iPhone to use when I am out and about.

thanks carl. thats cleared up a lot.
here is some help for youtowards losing 25 lbs .
although against most diets determine to have 2 meals a day. breakfast no earlier than mid day. that means water only until then.
to avoid eating between meals grace before and after meals begins and ends the spirituality of eating and determine not to hold back but eat until smilingly satisfied. how else to thank the lord. i promise you the 25lbs will leave you very easily. god bless you man

I now manage to say Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer (most days) according to the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer, but it took several false starts over a period of years to get to that point. The result is definitely worthwhile but don't beat yourself over the head if it doesn't work out at first.

"Pray as you can, not as you can’t" -- that's terrific; thank you. (From someone who beats himself up about never being able to keep to a daily discipline of the Office).
