Friends, join me and the Rev. Seifu Anil Singh-Morales for an extraordinary pilgrimage in search of the English mystics! Our week in England will include time spent in London, Oxford, Chelmsford and Norwich, as we seek the lives, wisdom and teachings of great mystics including William Blake, J.R.R. Â Tolkien, CS Lewis, Evelyn Underhill, and Julian of Norwich! We’ll pray in the cell where Julian of Norwich wrote her legendary book of mystical visions, haunt the halls of Oxford University where the Inklings composed their masterpieces of spiritual fiction, and enjoy a day of reflection at the Pleshey Retreat House, famed for its association with Evelyn Underhill. Along the way we’ll enjoy the splendor of the English countryside, the excitement of London, and the grandeur of medieval cathedrals. We will certainly be celebrating how many of the great English mystics were profound and visionary spiritual guides — but this pilgrimage is open to anyone who has a heart for mysticism and contemplative wisdom. And while most of the English mystics were Christian, we will be presenting their wisdom and history in an inclusive and interfaith-friendly way.
