My name is Helen and I’m a retired actuary – very left brained! However, I’ve been interested in spiritual exploration for as long as I can remember. I always say I was a Christian before I was born, as my dad was a Southern Baptist minister. Luckily for me, he was very much into the love and forgiveness message of Jesus, never the hellfire and brimstone. So I was very fortunate to have a positive idea of God growing up. I’ve been all over the map spiritually but still identify very loosely as Christian. I’ve been interested in Meditations on the Tarot for a long time, but every time I’ve tried to read it, it just seemed to “weird”! Not that I don’t like weird – I love weird. But maybe Inaccessible is a better word. Anyway, I’m excited to go through the book with a teacher and some fellow travelers! I’m hoping this will unlock the deep wisdom of this book!
Hi Helen, glad you are here! I think Meditations on the Tarot is the type of book that recognizes both left- and right-brained ways of knowing as sacred, so hopefully you will find some insights that might sneak by us right-brained types!
Yes, it is a weird book, and not the most accessible. But there are great treasures to be found in it nevertheless. Thanks for being part of the “treasure hunt”!
