KeymasterHi Nelda. Thanks for being here. Please let me know (either here in the forum, or at our monthly zoom calls) what questions and insights you have regarding the book. The more we all share, the more light will shine!

KeymasterCraig, so glad you have signed on for this program. Will be curious to get your take on this brilliant but idiosyncratic (and at times problematic) book.

KeymasterHi Joe! Glad you’re here.

KeymasterYes, I’m the guilty one. I italicized that paragraph since I saw it not so much as my original ideas, but as a summary of the wisdom in the book. Glad you like it!

KeymasterMorgan, this is a helpful perspective. I’ve come to recognize that this book, while very difficult (especially for those us without a background in philosophy), really does reward slow and multiple readings. I think we have to give ourselves permission not to have it all figured out the first (or even fourth!) time we read the book. Reading a book like this is formative: we learn by reading, and even when we don’t fully understand everything, we are slowly discovering a new way of seeing and a new way of processing information. So it’s definitely worth the effort!

KeymasterI’m glad this is helpful for you. And using mental images will serve you well as your journey deeper into the wisdom of this book! (The exercise for the very next letter, “The Empress” uses the imagination).

KeymasterPeter, so glad you are here! I can totally relate — I’ve worn out a few highlighters with my copies of MOTT as well!

KeymasterGreetings, Peggy. Glad you are here.
The ministry of spiritual direction (both receiving and giving) has been a tremendous blessing in my life. Ironically, I began to revisit this book after it sat on my shelf for many years, when I had two directees rather shy admit to me that they worked with Tarot.

KeymasterHi Renee, nice to see you here. I love the Lindisfarne folks, be sure to give Andy and Jane my regards.
I think for those of us who have “walked between the worlds” of Christian and pagan spirituality, this book is a godsend. It definitely does connect some dots.
Cheers!

KeymasterHi there! Don’t see your name, so I don’t know how to address you… but I’m glad you’re here!
I answer one of your questions in the first video for this course, and the other question will be answered in due course!

KeymasterVal, I am so sorry about the loss of your siblings. This book is a wonderful exploration of just how mysterious the world we live in really is — with a calm breeze from eternity dancing through it’s pages. I hope it is a balm for you and a joy to read!
Thanks for being here.

KeymasterHi Amanda Lee, thanks for being here!
It’s amazing how “official” Catholicism is sometimes like a nervous parent, quick to say no and slow to say yes… and then we discover the inner tradition within Catholicism, and there’s such a broad tent for inner exploration and even dialogue with other traditions/paths. So I hope you’ll enjoy reading MOTT from that “big tent” perspective!
