KeymasterCathy, so glad you’re here! And I just love your introduction: “Being a mystic is no longer important to me but serving my neighbor is.” Great wisdom there!!!
I think this book, MOTT, will open up an entirely new way of thinking about “mysticism” — and the adventure of loving/serving our neighbors is definitely part of the package!

KeymasterYou’re welcome, Barbara. Glad you’re here! It looks like we’re shaping up to have quite a fascinating community of fellow readers/seekers. Let the treasure hunt begin!

KeymasterHi Lance! Well, you got a post up on the Forum, so you’re off to a good start. And yes, I think we can all ask for a bit of Divine help in reading MOTT: it has many treasures but also many challenges. We don’t have to unpack all of its secrets, though: there’s plenty of gold in there even if we don’t figure it all out!

KeymasterPam, your community of “Mystics for Healing” sounds wonderful! You’re in a part of the world I love: my brother and sister-in-law live in Dunedin, just up the road from St. Petersburg.
MOTT is a fascinating book, it’s not perfect but it has many treasures. Thanks for being part of the conversation as we all explore this together.

KeymasterDebbie, so glad to see you here in this “tribe” we are co-creating. You are not the only Living School alum to be part of this group.
MOTT is kind of big and intimidating, but in my experience I found it to be beautiful in its spirit of inclusivity and imaginative wonder. It’s not a perfect by any stretch, but that will be part of the fun, as we discern together what treasures to unearth in its many pages. Thanks for joining the conversation.

KeymasterHi Julie! My brother and sister-in-law live in Dunedin, so I am very fond of your part of the world.
Glad you’re part of this “tribe.” Yes, let’s learn and enjoy the wisdom from MOTT — and each other.

KeymasterThanks, Julie. I suspect we will all be learning in perhaps surprising ways. Here’s to the adventure!

KeymasterGlad you’re here too, Paul! It will be an adventure.

KeymasterKathy! So glad you are here. Thanks for being part of this adventure. I think we will all find many treasures buried in this fascinating book.

KeymasterHi Rebecca! So glad you are here (and I love it that you were a War Reporter — the journalists are the bards of our culture, performing such an important role for both today and tomorrow). And I for one can echo that which you seek!
Carl McColman
KeymasterBill, welcome! Your animal companions sound wonderful. And you probably know my dear friend Debonee Morgan, who also graduated from the Living School as part of the first cohort.
I think your background in Jungian thought will benefit you greatly as you make your way through the Major Arcana. These images are certainly archetypal. I look forward to the conversations to come.

KeymasterJerry, glad you’re here. I’m a few years older than you, but I share the experience of getting some “stealth Buddhism” from David Carradine in the 1970s! I still think of being an apprentice as being “Grasshopper.”
Where in the desert are you? (or is it simply the “interior desert”?)

KeymasterBerto, so glad you are here. I see you and Toto know each other. 🙂
Do you know Sue Thompson and Stina Pope? They are a couple of retired Episcopal Priests who live in Washington State (sorry, I can’t recall exactly where). They’re dear friends.
Thanks for being part of this shared exploration!

KeymasterYou are welcome, Donavan. Thanks for being willing to be part of the tribe.
I’ve loved this book for years (this read through for me will be my fourth reading of the book), but I never really thought of it as “course material.” I thought it was just a little too esoteric. Boy was I wrong! I put this course together mainly because a few friends eagerly encouraged me to do so. I thought maybe we’d get 20 people to sign up… well, as of today (January 27) there’s over 90! Clearly, there are a lot of us who sense that the wisdom of this book will be best accessed through community.
Since you’re in Jacksonville, you and I probably know a lot of the same people… I’ve led several programs at Camp Weed over the years. Hope to get back there someday.

KeymasterMiriam! Great to see you here. This should be a fascinating journey.
I may have told you, I have a niece who lives in NOLA and she keeps inviting us down for Mardi Gras, one of these years we’ll make it — although I think I’m more interested in the parades etc. that happen the week before Fat Tuesday, that tend to be more for the locals!
