Hi everyone from Green Cove Springs, FL. This year we are experiencing a splash of winter temperatures and I love it when I can pull the sweatshirts out. I love being in and with nature. I feel most myself there. And…I love weeding. It is a very contemplative action for me.
I have grown up in the Catholic tradition and Tarot (however you pronounce it 😉 was not part of the vocabulary. Do you remember what happens when they say to stay away from something….. I am open to understanding the Tarot in terms of contemplative imagination, practice and the mystics. I have been exposed to any number of Christian and non-Christian expressions of spirituality.
A little disclaimer…..I work with the Roman Catholic institution so I often try to hide in these groups for fear that I will be dismissed from my job, but I need to be free of that so that I might know myself and my Creator more fully…as well as the varied ways in which the Creator wishes to reveal self to others and self.

I’m not familiar with GCS, but I have a brother and sister-in-law who live in Dunedin, and Fran and I vacation every year for a week in Santa Rosa Beach, near Seaside. So Florida is definitely a special place for us.
I understand your delicate situation — I work part time at a Jesuit parish and my work as a spiritual director is in association with a Jesuit retreat center. The Jesuits tend to be pretty laid back about inter-spiritual stuff, but I know some people find esotericism or Hermeticism or the Tarot a bit scary. My suggestion is, just participate at whatever level feels safe and good for you. It’s all good!
