You delineated/italicized this passage, and I am curious where it’s from, as I don’t recall reading it in MOTT. It’s stunning! And I was going to share it with a friend. Otherwise I’ll just say it’s from Carl McColeman/writer, mystic, friend.
“We seek union with God, but unless every one of us wants to reinvent the unitive wheel, we seek this as
apprentices to both contemplative community and mystical tradition. The reflected teachings and insights of
others not only inspires us, but impels us to act: to take the concrete steps necessary to make our longing for
God embodied in real ways in our lives. As we turn our spirituality into a practice and not just a desire, we
in turn gain knowledge and wisdom that we may someday be called to pass on to others.”Yes, I’m the guilty one. I italicized that paragraph since I saw it not so much as my original ideas, but as a summary of the wisdom in the book. Glad you like it!
