Hello. I am James from the northern part of Virginia in the United States. I am a lifetime spiritual seeker and longtime protestant pastor. Following the Path of Jesus led me some years ago to a more contemplative way, of centering prayer and reading the mystics. I studied with Cynthia Bourgeault, Richard Rohr, and James Finley, deepening my inner longing and practice.
Cynthia mentioned Meditations on the Tarot in a lecture about 3 years ago and I picked up a copy to read. The depth of the text makes reading it more a “slower task of love” and less a “reading for a purpose.” I find my heart open to the longer process of this shared online course. From reading your work over the years, Carl, I look forward to your contemplative wisdom in walking this journey with us.

JamesJames, welcome. What part of northern Virginia? I am a graduate of JMU (BA, 1982) and GMU (MA, 1984) and lived in the Fairfax/Vienna/Arlington/Falls Church area for about five years. Still have great feelings of affection for the area.
Yes, this book is definitely a slower task of love which is why I’ve set this up to be a year-long course. I hope people will enjoy the pacing — slow and steady wins the race.
