I’m thrilled to be part of a group of wisdom seeking, mystical loving really bright folks. I’m an almost 80 year old psychotherapist with a full private practice. (Thank you Dear God.) Grateful to Carl McColman for his wonderful writing and gentle guidance. I’m also an Emmy award winner for my work as a war reporter for NBC News… (my first career). Cynthia Bourgeault… Richard Rohr… Merton… Keating,among others, have all been guides. And what I seek is communion with this group and with God’s loving heart.
Hi Rebecca! So glad you are here (and I love it that you were a War Reporter — the journalists are the bards of our culture, performing such an important role for both today and tomorrow). And I for one can echo that which you seek!
How kind of you to see us (journalists) as bards instead of “ink stained wretches,” which was the prevailing view back in the 60’s when I started as a newspaper reporter. Your writing captivates and inspires!
I never became a journalist because I didn’t think I had the chutzpah for it. But I wrote for my High School paper (won a few awards, actually) and my college paper, and for me, journalists are — yes, the bards, the storytellers, the chroniclers. Those who diss journalists are probably the same ones who diss teachers. Talk about having your priorities messed up!
