So great to be joining with Carl and all of you for this deep reading and discussion of “Meditations on the Tarot”! Like some of you, I’ve had this book staring at me from my book shelf for a very long time now. Because of its sheer density and subject matter, I’ve always felt the best (maybe only!) way to read it well would be to have some guidance & direction. I was thrilled when, out of the blue, Carl offered to do just that for all of us!
I am an Episcopal priest here in Jacksonville, and I very much look forward to our readings and conversations together. And thank you Carl for agreeing to be our contemplative guide on the journey that lies ahead!

I’ve loved this book for years (this read through for me will be my fourth reading of the book), but I never really thought of it as “course material.” I thought it was just a little too esoteric. Boy was I wrong! I put this course together mainly because a few friends eagerly encouraged me to do so. I thought maybe we’d get 20 people to sign up… well, as of today (January 27) there’s over 90! Clearly, there are a lot of us who sense that the wisdom of this book will be best accessed through community.
Since you’re in Jacksonville, you and I probably know a lot of the same people… I’ve led several programs at Camp Weed over the years. Hope to get back there someday.
