I’m so glad to be joining you all on this journey into what will be new territory for me. I’ve hesitated to delve into this book, but have been curious about it for a long time. So I was surprised and excited to see Carl’s offer to explore this book together. I am glad to have this community and a wonderful leader as guides. I became interested in contemplative Christian tradition about 15 years ago when I was searching for ‘something more’ and bumped into Richard Rohr’s books. Then I had the great opportunity to be part of the first class of the Living School – which has shaped my life in so many wonderful ways. I spent a large part of my adult life living, working, and traveling overseas. I’ve now settled in northern Georgia and am part of some beautiful centering prayer groups.
Debbie, so glad to see you here in this “tribe” we are co-creating. You are not the only Living School alum to be part of this group.
MOTT is kind of big and intimidating, but in my experience I found it to be beautiful in its spirit of inclusivity and imaginative wonder. It’s not a perfect by any stretch, but that will be part of the fun, as we discern together what treasures to unearth in its many pages. Thanks for joining the conversation.
