Hello from first coast Florida!

My name is Ona Lea (aka Ruth) Mustonen.I am a seeker which has led me to places which I never would have imagined on my life’s journey! I chose to join this program to further my contemplative life and also from curiosity about how the Tarot fits with mysticism. My journey with the Divine led me to Israel where I joined a Benedictine monastic community for many years. While there, I discovered an attraction to desert and early monastic traditions. Centering prayer, lectio divina and meditation have long been part of my prayer life. Camping, sitting quietly in nature, reading and in general, just “being” is how I like to describe my life style which is unfortunately not often enough! My creative abilities are to be found mostly in cooking or trouble shooting issues. I practice spiritual direction as well as supervision and am the supervisor coordinator for the Audire Spiritual Direction program. Since having begun retirement 3 years ago, my propensity for seeking peace has grown much stronger. The Rule of St Benedict says to “seek peace and pursue it” which seems to have been my mantra for many years. I am an avid sports fan of most sports, especially football and our Jacksonville Jaguars even though they have had such a rough time for years! I am looking forward to learning from this course and interacting with other participants! Shalom!!
