My name is Bill Brennan. I’m a Spiritual Director and a trauma recovery trained, Jungian influenced psychotherapist. I’m also a Certified Addiction Professional. I have been reading mystics and practicing various forms of meditation for 49 years, especially Mindfulness, Lectio Divina and various creative contemplative practices. They have helped me open my heart more and more to a trinitarian God’s Presence and Love. Many mystics, like Thomas Merton, James Finley, David Stendl Rast, Thich Nhat Hanh have helped to nourish and heal my soul since then. I’m involved in an international men’s group called Illuman, started initially by Richard Rohr. I am from the first graduating class of Rohr’s Living School, where we took two years to study mystics of every major religion. Cynthia Bourgeault, one of my teachers, encouraged me to look into the wisdom of the Tarot a year and a half ago and mentioned our book. I have always benefited from Carl McColeman’s podcasts and wisdom. This course seemed like a syncronistic combination for me. My dream is that this course open me to more of God’s Love and that it empowers me to write a blog or some form of writing, while it enhances my practice of psychotherapy with trauma survivors. I am part of a very progressive Methodist church and a Quaker group. A fun fact about me is that I’m training a Yellow Labrador Retriever to be a Service/Therapy dog. He’s very loving and still a little too energetic for office work at this time. I also have an Eclectus parrot, a cat, a Black Labrador Retriever who I have trained to be a Service/Therapy dog, and a Chihuahua.
